Tariffs (with Apologies to Joyce Kilmer)
Eakinomics: Tariffs (with Apologies to Joyce Kilmer)
I THINK that I shall call the sheriff
If they levy another tariff:
A tariff whose leaching mouth is prest
Against the American families’ breast;
A tariff that God looks at all day,
And reminds himself, I’ll get my way;
A tariff that over time may wear
The gears of U.S. commerce bare;
Upon whose reputation has lain
Well-deserved fear of devastating pain.
Poems are written by economic seraphs
But only fools levy tariffs.
Fact of the Day
Among the states, opioids have had the largest impact on labor force participation and economic growth in West Virginia, Arkansas, Missouri, Georgia, New York, and Kentucky.
