Jacqueline Varas is the Former Director of Immigration and Trade Policy at the American Action Forum.
Biography
Jacqueline’s research focuses on the economic and employment implications of both immigration and trade, including the costs of tariffs and non-tariff barriers, the economic contributions of foreign-born workers, and the fiscal implications of the DACA program. Her work also examines the general impacts of immigration and trade on businesses, workers, productivity, consumer prices, and the macroeconomy.
Jacqueline’s work has been highlighted in The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNBC, Washington Post, Washington Examiner, Bloomberg, National Review, and other outlets. She earned a Master of Science in Applied Economics at Johns Hopkins University. Previously, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida.
