The $40 Billion Broadband Plan That Misses the Mark
Today the American Action Forum released an analysis of the Congressional Democratic leadership’s $40 billion broadband plan. The plan estimates the total cost of bringing broadband to all Americans would be around $40 billion, but AAF analysis finds the actual cost would likely be closer to $80 billion. AAF analysis concludes that federal efforts to expand the availability of broadband will not be as effective as working with state and local leaders to spark broadband adoption.
