AAF: 1332 Waiver Reform Promises Greater Flexibility
Today the American Action Forum (@AAF) released a report on proposed reforms to the Affordable Care Act’s Section 1332 State Innovation Waiver program. The ACA gives states the ability to apply for waivers from the law’s regulations, but the process for granting those waivers has been beleaguered by burdensome requirements, long and unpredictable delays, and unclear guidelines. Two Senate committees have proposed legislation that would make the waiver application process faster, more predictable, and less onerous, allowing more states to access the waiver program successfully.
