AAF Bolsters Communications Shop Hiring Seasoned Communicator Marisol Garibay

WASHINGTON – The American Action Forum (@AAF) continues to grow, hiring Marisol Garibay (@Garibaym3) as Deputy Communications Director. Garibay, a seasoned strategic policy communicator on financial services, tax, housing, and monetary policy, previously served four years as Communications Director for the House Financial Services Committee.

This is the latest in a series of key hires for AAF and coincides with their expansion into the financial services sector. In recent months AAF has significantly enhanced its press and policy capabilities, adding a health care press secretary and graphic designer, as well as expert policy directors on immigration and financial services.

“Marisol is a great addition to our team,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, President of the American Action Forum. “She brings extensive experience and expertise managing communications on some of America’s defining policy issues, enhancing our ability to engage in the modern-day battle of ideas.”

Prior to joining AAF, Garibay served as Communications Director for the Organization for International Investment. From 2008 until 2012, she served as Communications Director for the House Financial Services Committee. Marisol was special assistant for banking and finance at the Treasury Department from 2007 until 2008, and Assistant Communications Director for the House Financial Services Committee.

Garibay received her B.A. in political science and sociology from the University of Minnesota.
