AAF Research: Ending DACA Could Shrink the U.S. Economy by $176 Billion

The American Action Forum (@AAF) released new research that finds removing the 790,000 undocumented immigrants currently enrolled in the DACA program would cost the federal government between $7 billion and $21 billion. It would also shrink the labor force by 740,000 workers and reduce real GDP by $72 billion.

The research also estimates that removing all 1.9 million DACA-eligible immigrants (including those currently enrolled in DACA) would cost the federal government between $18 billion and $52 billion. Doing so by 2020 would also reduce the U.S. labor force by 1.8 million workers, and shrink the economy by $176 billion.
