AAF Research Finds the RFS Has Been a Costly Failure

New American Action Forum research finds the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) has failed to achieve its intended policy goals and has imposed costly burdens on the American consumer. The research finds that over the past ten years the RFS has cost fuel consumers $76 billion. While the Trump Administration mulls reforms to the RFS, the research concludes that simple compliance reforms would not sufficiently outweigh the economic costs imposed and the standard should instead be eliminated entirely.
