AAF’s Will Rinehart Comments on the ‘Ending Support for Internet Censorship Act’

Senator Josh Hawley introduced a bill last week that would strip liability protections for tech companies — unless they are certified as nonpartisan. This proposed reform of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act would undermine a cornerstone of the tech economy, argues AAF’s Director of Technology and Innovation Policy Will Rinehart.

He says in part:

Policymakers are trying to ensure neutrality on platforms, but this is not the way. Putting unelected bureaucrats in charge of monitoring neutrality threatens the prudent management of platforms and the health of the tech economy.
