Comments to FCC: Safeguarding and Securing the Open Internet

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed a rule to reclassify broadband as a utility and impose open Internet regulations on providers. In new comments, AAF Director of Technology & Innovation Policy Jeffrey Westling argues that not only is reclassification unnecessary to promoting an open Internet, but that the investment lost due to reclassification would harm public safety and national security. He further argues that Congress, not the FCC, should determine the appropriate regulatory regime for broadband.
