Eight Takeaways from CBO’s Report on Medicare for All

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a report this week on the questions around a single-payer health care system. AAF’s Director of Health Care Policy Christopher Holt highlights eight key takeaways from the report and its implications.

His points include:

  • CBO is wary of a single-payer system increasing utilization of health care services;
  • CBO is still dubious about the effectiveness of government negotiations over drug prices; and
  • Many outstanding questions remain about a single-payer system.
