So that nobody will recall
Their toxic single payer
That hasn’t a fiscal prayer;
Too bad it is identical.

Follow the link in the title for an overview of recent efforts to use the name “Medicare” to pitch various public health insurance proposals. Framing universal health care as a mere expansion of Medicare tends to increase the appeal of these proposals, but their impacts on the current Medicare program, its beneficiaries, and its fiscal outlook are woefully under-appreciated.
