Christopher Holt is the Director of Health Care Policy at the American Action Forum.
Biography
Christopher focuses on the intersection of health care policy, the legislative and executive branch policy-making process, and the political pressures that influence both. In addition, he oversees AAF’s health policy experts and research.
Christopher has discussed health policy and the legislative process on Fox News and Fox Business, among other television outlets. His op-eds have appeared in publications including Real Clear Policy and The Hill, and his research and perspectives are regularly cited in numerous publications including Politico, Congressional Quarterly, Modern Healthcare, and Bloomberg Law. He is a regular panelist at briefings and policy events organized by groups ranging from the Alliance for Health Policy to the Heritage Foundation, and he has provided expert testimony to multiple congressional committees. Christopher also writes a weekly newsletter column, the Weekly Checkup, explaining the major health policy developments of the week.
Before joining AAF, Christopher worked on Capitol Hill, serving as a health policy advisor to Senator Scott Brown (R-MA), Representatives Tim Murphy (R-PA) and Bob Inglis (R-SC), and Senator George Voinovich (R-OH). He began his congressional career with the Senate Special Committee on Aging under then-Chairman Gordon Smith (R-OR). Prior to his work in Congress, Christopher worked on several political campaigns.
Christopher has a Master’s in Congressional and Presidential Studies from The Catholic University of America, and he studied political science as an undergraduate at Whitman College.
