AAF Experts Analyze Proposals in Green New Deal
The Green New Deal, as recently proposed in Congress, is an ambitious and expansive plan to remake much of U.S. public policy, as it contains energy initiatives as well as health care, labor, housing, and infrastructure proposals. AAF experts have analyzed these proposals, insofar as possible at this early stage, to provide a rough cost estimate and a sketch of how the plan could impact the country.
According to their estimate, the green agenda—electricity grid, transportation system, guaranteed energy-efficient housing—adds up to $8.3 to $12.3 trillion over the next 10 years. The economic agenda—jobs, health care, food security—accounts for another $42.8 to $80.6 trillion.
