ICYMI: AAF’s Gordon Gray on the CR and Federal Spending Outlook
The American Action Forum’s Gordon Gray, director of fiscal policy, looked at the federal discretionary spending outlook for 2018. Federal funding faces sequestration if Congress continues to enact appropriations at current levels, as these levels are over the BCA’s limits for 2018. Any funding agreement will have to receive bipartisan support in the Senate, setting up a partisan confrontation over how much money the military and domestic programs will receive and how any budgetary relief will be offset.
